Solar Panels

Solar panels directly convert solar energy to electricity. It can benefit residential properties by reducing energy bills and commercial sites by lowering operational costs. MBD Automation handles the whole process to let you experience these benefits. We take care of everything from system design to commissioning and certification.

Service Offer:

Pairing solar with batteries provides additional benefits like backup power and maximising self-consumption. Get in touch to see how solar PV can benefit your residential or commercial property.

FAQ

What are the DNO Requirements (G98 and G99) to Connect Solar Panels to the Grid?
The G98 and G99 forms are required by the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) to connect a solar PV system to the grid. The G98 form is for systems up to 16 Amp per phase and the G99 is for larger systems. MBD Automation will submit all required DNO paperwork.
  • Reduce electricity bills by generating your own power
  • Protect against rising energy prices
  • Low maintenance clean energy system
  • Eligible for Smart Export Guarantee payments
  • Improved sustainability and carbon footprint

This depends on system size, panel efficiency, orientation, shading and location. As an example, a typical 5kW system in the UK may generate around 4,200 kWh per year. Average house hold consumes around 3,500kWh per year.

Key elements are the solar panels which convert sunlight into DC electricity, the inverter which converts to AC power for use or export, plus mounting system, isolator switch, cabling and any batteries if included. We take care of sourcing quality components.

Solar panels can still generate energy even in cloudy or cold conditions, just at lower outputs than peak sunshine. Well-designed systems tailored to the UK climate can deliver significant electricity self-generation year-round.
